Winamp

Description

For the use of the Sound-to Light functions ("clavilux Effects") you must have installed the audio program Winamp on your PC (http://www.winamp.com). We recommend the version 5.03 (or higher), you can obtain free of charge from the Internet. DMXControl also works with lower versions, these have a security risk recently recognized and therefore should not be used. The installation of Winamp is carried out in accordance with the enclosed setup program into a directory of your choice.

The connection between DMXControl and WinAmp is produced by Plugin of Cave Software: WinAmp VBLink which can be downloaded (right below third to the last line) free of charge under the address http://www.softwarecave.nl/downloads.php.

Installation

After you have loaded the VBLink archive, you must unpack it into an arbitrary directory. You copy the file 'vbvis10.dll' ("Windows/system" under Win9x/ME into the Windows system directory now; "Windows/System32" under NT/and then 2000 leads to the start of Winamp the file 'VBLinkDemo.exe' to install Plugin around which out/XP) (attention WinAmp 3 user: Statements follow) below! This still must be activated in WinAmp now: You choose the menu item Options > Prefrences in Winamp and (or Plugin-> Visualization) you select 'select plug-in ...'). You then select this 'WinAmp VB link' Plugin and you click on 'start.'

We still recommend under ' plug-in this ' in the right gap activate 'car execute visualization plug-in on play' to have anybody start the Plugin automatically. You must otherwise respectively choose the start button or push+K the key combination Crt+ shift to start the Plugin. If an audio file is played, now if the spectrum should appear in the Soundanalyzer of DMXControl (if as a source also VBLink is select), now.

Sometimes do not turn the installation of the Plugins correctly, however, (the real Plugin was not unpacked). In this case the file "GJVIS10.DLL" is missing in all probability (most C:\Programme\Winamp\Plugins) in the Winamp-Plugin folder. If the corresponding VBLink entry should be missing into the Winampeinstellungen, save this file (http://www.dmxcontrol.de/files/GJVIS10.DLL) in the Plugin folder and restart Winamp.

External sources

To use the spectrum of an external audio source you must select in the context menu of WinAmp "play > URL ...". As a URL "linein : //" then is indicated. After that title "line input" appears. If no signal should be got so, the wrong channel for the recording is chosen presumably in the Windows blender.
