Save scene
From English DMXCWiki
Description
A show consists of various scenes. A Scene is a series of settings (DMX values per channel) to control the equipment you have connected. A duration time and a Fade-in time can also be assigned to any Scene. A Scene is the basic element for the formation of light shows. Therefore, it is useful to store scenes that are adapted to the own devices also to be able to reuse these. This will be made possible by the Save Scene dialogue available in miscellaneous DMXControl tools via the green plus-button, for example in Scene list tool, in the Effectsequencer (generate step), or in the Audioplayer.
At storing of scenes, two important rules have to be taken into account:
- The Scene must be set in before the dialogue is called.
- Only the channels are stored, that are selected in the dialogue, see fig. below, i.e. channels with one hook equipped.
From the second point it results that you must exactly check, which are the consequences from this Scene. Possibly, you must put back certain channels in a successor Scene explicitly, in order not to generate unintentional Effects.
The selective storages is also necessary, so that several Effects can run out simultaneously, otherwise the scenes "would come in confusion". Nevertheless, it can be appropriate for certain scenes, to store all channels (must be choosen as option).
Definition of steps=
- Set the values for the Scene ‘’’at first’’’ , put in Scene a name and define the Fade-in time and the duration. Through putting in the time on zero and reduction about further step, you can assign the duration "manually". In this case the following Scene is activated after pressing the GO-key (for example in Scene list tool).
- At the left side all DMX values changed since the last Scene storage are shown as default. Here, you can make alterations at the default settings in the channel selection.
- In description field a commentary to this Scene can be inserted, for example to remember for special dependencies.
- With the cross-fade regulator you can set a cross-fading percentage for non-fading channels i.e at what point the gobos change.
Hint:
The legend-box right below in the dialogue-window is truly only one legend to the explanation. Here, it is intended that one cannot select anything.
