Graphical view
From English DMXCWiki
This tool enables you to graphically define the Configuration of your DMX equipment. It is often helpful to provide a background picture, which corresponds to the stage or room you will be using. Tip: Some users have used a photo of their stage for this.
If you right-click on an empty position you get the following menu:
- Modify background -> You can choose a jpg, bmp or gif a background image.
- Add device -> see Add device, You can choose a Device from a list of pre-configured equipment
A symbol for the Device will appear in the window. You can move newly added fixtures by selection from the context menu at the right position.
The context menu provides following operations:
- Configure -> The Configuration menu opens , see Device configuration
- Delete -> Entfernen des Gerätes aus der Konfiguration
- Move -> The icon follows your mouse until you click again
When you roll over the Device icons with your mouse pointer, a yellow devive popup window will appear. This allows you to set the Device while your light show is running. To set-up popup windows for specifically for your devices, please see the "Device-and-Form-Configuration" tuturial.
The pop-up menus allow you to:
- Have a dynamic indication of your current DMX settings.
- To adjust devices directly without knowing specific numeric DMX values.
Note: In program the Configuration menu you can set the pop-ups to only appear when the mouse is clicked.
Some devices are operated using a slider or Fader. You can change between the minimum and maximum values for such a Device by double-clicking the left mouse button on its Device symbol.
In Selection mode you can click and drag the mouse to create a selection box and select the devices that fall inside it. Only devices of same type can be highlighted at the same time, see Group selection. Of course you can also select several appliances, in that pressed the Strg-key holds.
In the Moving mode you can move the map (background picture) with the mouse, (click and move).
You can use this instead of the sliders if the stage-window is smaller than the background map.
In this mode, no selection rectangle is possible.
Tipp: Try out the moving mode in that you put in the zoom-value 2:1 and move the picture then.
