DDF
From English DMXCWiki
DDF is the abbreviation for "Device Definition File".
DDFs are used by DMXControl to get information about the fixtures you are using. A DDF contains the definitions for DMX channels, the layout of popup menus and further information for dependencies between channels. DDF files use XML format to define all information.
The DDFs are located in the subdirectory "Devices" in the DMXControl main directory. The associated gif files, which are displayed in DMXControl, are stored in another sub-directory named “images”.
You can find additional DDFs, that were not included with the installation, on the DMXControl home page. There, you can also find a Tutorial on creating a DDF for a new Fixture and a new graphical tool, the DDF Editor.
