Alpha-Version

In addition to the official releases of DMXControl, there are frequent new alpha versions in the form of new "DMXControl.exe" files. These alpha versions often contain new Features and bugfixes, but are almost untested. Some bugs may have been fixed, but others may have appeared. If you are curious about the latest developments, then alpha versions are for you. However, they should not be used for professional purposes.

Requirements

The current version of DMXControl must first be installed, so that most of the necessary components are already present. The alpha EXE file is not executable without an original DMXControl installation!

Also, during the development process, components may be updated or added. Since the alpha versions do not come with their own setup utilities, these components must be downloaded separately. DMXControl displays appropriate error messages to show you which component has to be downloaded.

These components are currently available:

Under some circumstances, DMXControl.exe will not run after an update. Instead you will hear the default Windows error-sound.
In this case, proceed as follows: Click on "Start", then "Execute...". Enter
"regsvr32 C:\Program Files\DMXControl\DMXCTypeLib.dll"
(edit the path to the DMXControl program dir) and click "OK". After that you should be able to start DMXControl again.

New EXE

Simply download the new DMXControl.exe and replace the original file with it. It is advisable to backup the old EXE file.
